SUMMER SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS We had two outstanding entries for the Summer Science Fair Contest, one from Megan - an 8th grader, and one from Jordan - a 4th grader. I could not choose which one to award a prize, so I consulted with a neighbor who is 90 years old, his wife is 82. Richard and Elaine are the kind of people that you and I would like to be when we reach that age - bright, articulate and fun. Richard had met his "sweetheart", Elaine, at Chicago University, which he attended after WWII on the GI bill. During his career as an economist, he was a professor at Chicago University and taught high school in their day school, as well as being a consultant to the Chicago School system. So... "Who better to break a tie?" you may ask. The day after I gave them the entries I called. Elaine answered and said that both entries were outstanding and she and Richard decided that they could not choose one - it was a tie. Well, that solved my dilemma, didn't it! Then Elaine said that they would like to sponsor one half of each of the prizes and that way I could award 2 prizes - one to Megan and one to Jordan. Don't worry, we are going to show you how this will work for you.
