I. Positive Habit #3: Attitude about Time
Did you know that many cultures do not look at time to determine their activities? Yes, Americans are obsessed with the movement of the clock and running their life by it.

Successful people focus on what they want to accomplish, not how much time it takes. When we enjoy doing what we love, when we stay focused on our outcome, then accomplishment occurs.

What did Muhammad Ali focus on!
He kept saying so many times "I am the greatest!"
that he eventually became the greatest.
And what was his backup to becoming the greatest?
Yes, relentless action.

There is something funny that I noticed about humans... when you say one thing to yourself - positive self-talk - and your action is not congruent with your talk, then integrity gets lost and accomplishment does not occur. It's almost like we cannot fool our soul! It really wants us to match our words with our actions.

What is integrity? Integrity occurs when you match your words with your actions. Another way of saying it is to live in your word. Walk your talk.

You probably have never heard of the songwriter, Lou Reed, but he has written hundreds of songs and has worked extensively with Andy Warhol.

Here is his view of time...
"There's only X amount of time. You can do whatever you want with that time. It's your time."

"Me, I've concentrated on music pretty much to the exclusion of other things."

"I'm in this business for too long to be halfhearted about anything."

"I try very much, whenever I do projects, whatever it is, there's only one thing on my mind, only one thing."

Remember Lou's statement, it's *your* time.

Let's wrap up this week's Positive Habit series by remembering a man that changed our lives with his invention.

Henry invention the assembly line, which paved the way for modern mass production. He was the the sole owner of his company and became one of the richest and most well-known people in the world.

Henry's last name was Ford and he invented the world's first automobile.

He said..."Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs.”

We retain 10% of what we read.
We retain 20% of what we hear.
We retain 30% of what we see.
We retain 50% of what we hear and see.
We retain 70% of what we say.
We retain 90% of what we do.

What did all these people have in common?
Focus and Action.
