Biochemistry experiments for middle school and high school students...
Cell biology science fair projects allow you to explore the foundation of life, cells. No matter how old you are or how much you know about science, biochemistry science experiments are great for teaching you about the function and importance of cells. Below you will find a series of simple, intermediate and advanced cell science projects. The first option that you have for cell biology science fair projects is to look at basic cell biology. In these beginner level biochemistry science experiments you will examine cell structure and cell functions. You will use what you learn in this experiment in later projects. The second option that you have for cell biology science fair projects is to examine how cells react to different enzymes. Enzymes are chemical catalysts that are produced by living things. In these biochemistry science fair projects you will see how cells react to different types of enzymes. Notice how some enzyme speed up cell functions while other slow down these functions. The third option that you have for these not so simple and easy science fair projects is to examine the biochemistry components of cellular biology. In these experiments you will look at amino acids and how they are used to build cells. A more advanced project on this topic will look at how amino acids not only build cells but also program cells. The fourth project idea that you can use is to look at how you can induce cell division by using specific enzymes. Your job during this experiment is to (1) identify what enzymes are needed to induce cell division and (2) to explain why cell division occurred. If you are interested in a more advanced project, then consider trying to explain what happens when cell division enzymes fail to shut down. The final project idea that you can work with is to examine enzymes that retard cell division. In this experiment you will identify cell division retardants and explain how they work. Again, for a more advanced project explore what happens when this type of enzyme either fails to shut off, or is not present in a cell. Explore the diseases and disorders caused by this type of biochemistry malfunction. Copyright © 2003 - 2010 Super Science Fair Projects - All Rights Reserved.
