Almost everyone on the planet knows what caffeine is, and many people feel that they can't live with out this stimulant. But did you know that caffeine is a natural chemical compound that is found in certain plants? If you can't live without caffeine then consider completing one of the following science fair projects - caffeine plants experiments.

The first option that you have for science fair projects - caffeine plants experiments is to learn about what caffeine is. This experiment will require you to explore the chemical compounds found in caffeine, as well as learn how it works using botany science experiments.

Now that you know what caffeine is you are ready to move on to the next sample science fair projects - caffeine plants experiments. The next simple middle school science fair projects that you can complete will look at what plants contain caffeine. This experiment will require you to do background research and to find plants that have caffeine. Once you have these plants you will be able to develop more advanced biochemistry science fair projects.

The third option that you have is to determine how caffeine interacts with our nervous systems. Your job during this experiment will be to explore the chemical and physical reactions that occur in our bodies when we consume caffeine. If you are interested in developing a more advanced project then consider comparing the chemical reactions that occur when you drink or eat caffeine to those that occur when you take caffeine straight.

The fourth option that you have is to determine if caffeine can be artificially manufactured. For this experiment you will need to determine if the chemical compounds found in caffeine can be replicated in a lab. To complete this experiment you will need access to the Internet or a chemist. For a more advanced project consider trying to artificially manufacture caffeine your self. How close can you get?

The final sample experiment that you can complete will look at how caffeine is used by the caffeine plant. Is there a practical reason for the plant to create this chemical. For example, is it used to keep animals returning to the plant so that they will pollinate the plant or spread its seeds? Or is it a defensive chemical? Use your critical thinking skills when working on this topic.
