Chemsitry science experiments get a makeover with cosmetics experiments...
Cosmetics science fair projects provide you with the opportunity to mix your love for makeup and glamour with your interest in science. There are several chemistry science experiments that you can complete that explore the world of cosmetics, and many of these projects have the potential to create winning science fair projects. However, without a great presentation, your project can be cast aside just like last season's fashion. Samples of cosmetics that you create with your cosmetics science fair projects make terrific presentation visual aides. These samples can be for hand creams, lotions or general cosmetics. Because everyone's skin is different you will want to label each of the samples with ingredients that you used. This way you can avoid a judge having a bad reaction to your experiment. Photographs can also make a great addition to your cosmetics science fair project's display. Photographs can be of the chemistry science fair projects that you conducted while creating your cosmetics, or of people testing your products. If you used botanical ingredients then photographs of these natural ingredients can also add a nice touch to your display. Video clips also work well for hard science fair projects to explain. For example, explaining how the products you created helped to heal dry skin on your test subject's feet can seem boring, especially if you don't have a lot of photographs to back up your claims. However, a time lapsed video can quickly show how the test subject's skin healed over the duration of one to two weeks. This type of video presentation can add a wow factor to your project, which is something that you want. In addition to selecting interesting display elements for your cosmetic science fair project's presentation, you will also want to think about the colors that you choose to use on your display. While you want your display to be eye catching and visible from a distance, you don't want to use obnoxious color combinations that hurt your eyes or that are too loud. This can hurt your project's presentation score. Your best bet is to select bold but tasteful color combinations that focus on primary colors and neutrals. Finally, as you put together your cosmetics project think about the total package. Your project has specific goals that it must meet if you want to win with it. First of all it must be informative. Next it needs to provide a summary of important steps in your experiment. Third it needs to be entertaining. And finally it needs to be attractive. If your project's display meets all of these goals then you are on the path to winning your science fair.
