From slime to building projects, chemistry science experiments rule!
White glue science projects come in all sorts of shapes, colors and textures. If you are looking for a weekend project, a class project or even a chemistry science fair project then use the following sample projects as inspiration. Read through your options and then try out one or two to get your feet wet. The most popular of all white glue science projects has to be the Gak or Slime Project. This project has you create slime using Borax, water, white glue and food coloring. You will need 1 teaspoon of Borax, 1 1/2 cups of water, food coloring and 1/2 cup of white glue. You will also need two mixing bowels. To make slime you will need to first create two solutions. The first solution will be made from white glue and a 1/2 cup of water, and the second solution will be made from 1 cup of water, the Borax and a few drops of food die. Once both solutions are mixed together you will want to mix the two solutions together. When the two mixtures combine they will create a flexible and pliable polymer. Knead until the polymer is firm. Store your slime in a zip locked baggie. While the slime experiment is the most popular you have other white glue science projects to choose from. For example, you can create a sealant with white glue. Simply brush the white glue over a paper that you want to seal and let it dry. This will create a protective coating and repel water. What makes dried white glue water resistant? Explore the chemical makeup of white glue to answer this question. While you can use white glue for chemistry science fair projects you can also use it to create engineering projects as well. In this case you will use white glue to hold together pieces of balsa wood, or to help laminate decals on your models. White glue is not a viable test subject to work with, but it is also an important part of your visual display's design. You will use white glue to adhere your graphics and text panels to your poster board or project board. You can also use white glue to decoupage graphics onto wooden displays or plexiglass displays. The versatility of white glue is amazing, and a science fair wouldn't be the same without it.
