The computer age has ushered in an era of unprecedented creativity and innovative potential among people of all ages - but especially among young people who have grown up immersed in the world of computers. Science for kids needs no longer involve simply replicating what others have already done. You - yes, you - can perform amazing computer science experiments that push the boundaries of what is known and what people can accomplish.

The first computer science fair projects elementary school students can explore are computer memory experiments. Basic computer memory experiments can look at things like how much memory is required to save 100 characters, 1000 characters or 1 million characters. More advanced computer memory experiments will want to examine how memory works and how it can be manipulated to save more characters without expanding the available memory.

The next group of computer science fair experiments that elementary school students can play around with explore storage devices like CDs and DVDs. There are lots of different types of storage experiments that you can develop. For example, you can try to find ways to determine how much data is on a CD-R simply by looking at how reflective the surface is, or develop an experiment that compares the efficiency of various data storage devices.

The third group of science experiments that you can work with explore wireless technology. Bluetooth technology can be a lot of fun to design experiments around. For example you can experiment to see what materials are capable of blocking wireless technology transmissions, if different colored filters can disrupt the transmission or if sound and vibration can affect wireless technology transmissions.

If you are interested in designing a fun science fair project then consider exploring audio computer tools. Your first option is to develop science experiments that utilize digital voice analysis software. For example, you can use the voice analysis software to detect deception, emotion or age of the test subject. Your second option is to experiment with sound file manipulation programs. Your experiments can try to alter one person’s voice to sound just like another person’s voice by adjusting the pitch, tone and other audio elements.

Computer science fair projects elementary school students produce are always surprising. Elementary students produce great computer science fair experiments because they are still in touch with their creative side.
