The first option that you have for computer science high school science fair projects is to put together a computer demonstration. This demonstration will need to either demonstrate your experiment, or it will need to demonstrate the computer project that you created for your project. If you want to really get the judges interested in your project, try to find a way to incorporate them into the demonstration.
The second option that you have for computer science high school science fair projects visual aides is to use a print out. Print outs work well for computer science fair experiments that deal with computer generated 3D artwork, graphics or calculations. These printouts will need to be displayed in an attractive manner. Simply having loose sheets of paper is not appropriate for a science fair display. However, if you have a large printout of data, then you will want to bind the print out pages in a book or folder so that the pages are neat and easy to page through.
The third option that you have is to use screenshots for your visual aides. Screenshots work well to help you illustrate the steps of your computer science fair project. Again, you will want to find a creative way to display your screenshots, as loose papers will not impress the judges. Generally you will want to mount the screenshots on a colored mat and then affix the mat to your display board. You will also want to label your screenshot with a caption, so that the judges know what they are looking at and how it is related to your project.
The fourth visual aide that you can use for your computer science fair project is a diagram. Diagrams work well if you need to demonstrate the internal components of your computer or to illustrate the structure of your project. To ensure your displays look like high school science fair projects instead of fifth grade science fair projects, you will need to make sure your diagrams are done to scale, are neat and are presented in a creative and professional manner.
The final visual component of your computer project's display is its overall layout. The layout of your computer project's visual display needs to flow naturally from left to right, and it also needs to be organized logically. You will need to ensure your visual elements are both labeled and referenced in your text panels. To ensure you are creating a positive impact with your display, step back and view it from a distance. If you can't read the headings or see what the graphics are, then you will need to make adjustments to your visual elements so that you can.
