Hold your breath, because it is time to experiment with oceanography science fair projects and ideas. These earth science experiments will take you below the surface of the world's oceans to examine geological formations, tidal patterns, ocean chemistry and more. If you love the water, then this is the topic for you.

Tides make a great topic for oceanography science fair projects and ideas. There are a lot of experiments that you can conduct on tides. Basic projects will look at the mechanics of tides, while advanced projects will examine the application of the energy produced by tides.

The chemical makeup of ocean water can also be used as topics for oceanography science fair projects and ideas. A basic project will simply compare the chemical makeup of various oceans of the world. A more advanced project will examine how global warming is changing the chemistry of the world's oceans.

Temperature is a great topic to choose if you want to create earth science experiments. These experiments can take a look at global warming and how it is impacting the oceans' temperatures, or they can simply look at how ocean temperature impacts the type of marine life that is capable of thriving.

If geology is your topic of choice then consider developing a project that looks at teh geological formations that are found under the ocean. For example, some of the tallest mountains in the world are actually found underwater. One sample project that you can complete is to test the hypothesis that ocean mountains have similar ecosystem stratifications as terrestrial mountains do.

One of the most interesting topics that you can choose is to take a look at the geothermal features that are found underwater. The top 10 science fair projects that you can create, will involve this focus. For example, you can explore how the heat produced by these features allows life to flourish in otherwise frigid environments. What does this tell you about the possible origins of life?
