What is Hydroponics?
Hydroponic ( hy'dro·pon'ic ) means growning plants without soil. A system can be as complex as a single plant being fed by an aerated jar of nutrient solution to 1000s of plants supported from above where a flowing solution of pH, temperature, and nutrient concentrations are controlled by using a sophisticated computer system and automated chemical analysis.
Although this is not a science fair project kit, children will expand their vocabulary and knowledge of earth science and alternative energy .
The Hydrolabwill cultivate plants and vegtables in an "indoor" environment. The kit comes with a base, 4-growing trays, bedding for propagting the growth of plants, fertilizer tank, safe chemicals, and an adjustable translucent observation cover.
