Hypothesis During the hot months if you close your blinds / shades during the day when the sun comes thru the windows or doors, you will reduce your electric bill by 25%.

Materials Needed

Procedure
Ask your parents for your electric bill from last year for the month you are doing your experiment.

i.e. If you are doing your experiment in August, get a copy of your household's bill from the previous year. If your parents do not have a copy, then they can call your utility company and ask for copy.

Be responsible for closing the window coverings in your home every morning before leaving the house.

At the end of the month, compare the two electric bills.
