Science Learning Characteristics of 5th Grader's

Fifth graders are now veteran scientists who know how to observe, experiment, gather data and draw conclusions.

They have learned about the physical world around them and can apply basic math and science skills to their observations.

They enjoy learning about the processes of living things, such as digestion and photosynthesis.

They are aware of the Earth and want to learn more about the natural resources, how people use and affect those resources. Areas of earth science that they enjoy learning about are atomposhere and weather, classifying matter, and the solar system.
