With the Find-a-Mineral Lab Activity your students will have so much fun being a geoscience detective as they discover hidden clues on their geological dig.
Imagine identifying 12-minerals on their desktop excavation in natural gravel, observing and testing the rocks physical properties. 3-common rock samples are in this package that will illustrate how small mineral grains are found as constituents of various rock types.

You can conduct fascinating geology homeschool projects with your child - to teach him or her about the makeup of our planet, its abundance of natural resources, and massive phenomena such as continental drift, volcanic eruptions, sedimentation, fossilization, and the creation of substances like oil and natural gas. Here are a few ideas for easy projects that facilitate homeschool learning of geology.
Meteorological data - especially from the past - is readily available on the Internet and elsewhere in the public domain. This makes it easy to do the necessary research for geology homeschool projects involving phenomena like El Nino, tropical storms, hurricanes, and temperature changes over time.
What do historical weather patterns say about whether global warming is happening, and, if so, to what extent? Are humans responsible or can the cause be traced to natural factors like solar radiation and sunspots? This is an ongoing debate in the scientific community that might get your kids interested in the ways science can be applied to crucial issues in our world.
A project about global warming - examining both sides of the debate - will cultivate students' critical thinking skills while teaching them more about the relevance of geology to our lives.
Geology homeschool projects for kids can study the formation of various kinds of stones - from the commonplace to the precious. What is the difference between the conditions that lead to the formation of granite and those that enable a diamond to be created? How might it be possible to create diamonds and other precious stones artificially? Research projects can study these questions, perhaps aided by samples of the materials being examined.
Teaching kids science can be fun and effective with geology homeschool projects. Also find great ideas for earth earth science experiments.
