Microbiology science fair experiments look at bacteria in drinking water...
The most basic of bacteria in drinking water science fair projects is to simply test one source of drinking water. To complete this experiment you will collect a sample of drinking water and examine it under a microscope. Did you find any bacteria cells? If you are interested in advancing the difficulty of your bacteria in drinking water science fair projects then all you have to do is look at more than one source of drinking water and then compare your findings. For example, you can develop microbiology science fair projects that examine the bacteria found in water collected from different water fountains at school. Explain why your results were either the same or different from each other. The third type of microbiology science fair experiments that you can complete will look at comparing the bacteria count in drinking water collected from two different sources. For example, you can collect water samples from home and from school. Then look at each sample under the microscope and conduct a bacteria count. Compare your results. Explain the differences and similarities that you observe. Another interesting experiment that you can conduct will compare the bacteria count of tap water to that of bottle water. To advance this experiment you can expand the experiment to include a variety of bottled waters, and several different sources of tap water. When drawing your conclusions try to explain why you got the results that you did, and what government regulations are in place to control the bacteria levels in both tap water and bottled water. The final project that you can complete is to examine if it is safe to drink from the backyard hose. The first step will be to example the bacteria count of water that came out of your garden hose. Step two will be to examine the bacteria count from normal tap water inside your house. Explain why the bacteria count was the same or different. Explore how sanitary a garden hose is and make indicate whether it is safe or not safe to drink from the hose. Copyright © 2003 - 2010 Super Science Fair Projects - All Rights Reserved.
