Wire Coils 4-Pack

Note: Wire coils come assembled. This saves hours of work.         Did you know that wind power and hydro-electric power are currently the only alternative energy sources that are clearly competitive in cost with fossil fuel electricity generation?

Each pack contains 4 wire coils, just like the ones that are included in the PicoTurbine educational windmill kit. They consist of approximately 300 turns of enamel coated magnet wire, measure approximately 2" x 1" by 1/4" thick, weigh about 1 ounce or [28 grams] and have a resistance of approximately 8 ohms.

These coils are wound by a special machine and therefore, vary sightly. This will save you countless of hours of winding your own coils.

Use the coils to create your own alternators based on the PicoTurbine design or upscale your science experiment by using 4 or 8 extra coils instead of the basic PicoTurbine kit which only includes 4 coils. We suggest 4 extra coils for a few more volts and 8-12 for maximum output of electricity.

 It is best to add equal numbers of
 magnets to magnets keeping in mind
 that each is just one variable.
