Product Description
PicoTurbine Windmill Kit V2 is a fully functioning Savonius wind turbine. It stands 8" tall and produces between 2.0-3.0 volts which is enough to light up a bicolor LED (included). The LED flashes red and green to show the alternating current produced. The kit can be easily built in less than one hour. With some adult supervision the kit can be built by children as young as 10 years old.
Included in the PicoTurbine Windmill Kit V2
- 4 pre-wound coils of enamel coated copper wire
- 4 ceramic grade-5 magnets
- 1 (5 1/4) disk
- 1 bicolor light emitting diode (LED) with 2 leads
- 1 (1/2) Phillips head (cross slot) screw
- 1 eye-hook screw
- 1 wooden dowel
- 1 piece of wood about 6 by 6 and ½ thick (for the base)
- 1 strip of double-sided tape
- 1 small piece of sandpaper for stripping the copper wire

The Living With Wind Energy is a two-hour video tour of off-grid homes that allows the viewer to see what an "green" home looks like, and shows how normal life can be while using a fraction of the energy of a typical North American home, and generating all your own power from the sun and wind.
Its an up close and personal chance to get the real off-grid experience.
Teacher's love using this with their students because the kids can watch the DVD as a class or individuals when they have finished their assigned work. The classroom discussion becomes exciting and interaction. An excellent way to educate our future inhabitants!
