Dallas' Science Project, 8th Grade
ISEF rules and regulations. ALWAYS FOLLOW SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS! Awards Earned:3rd Place, 8th Physical Science, PCA Science Fair Problem to be Solved:Which part of town has the most pollution in the form of airborne particles? Hypothesis:The part of twon that has the most businesses will have the most pollution because there is more traffic and people. Procedure:Select ten places around town to put cards. Draw the same size circle on each card. Smear a thin layer of vaseline in the circle. Then glue popsicle sticks onto the back of the cards. Go around town and stick the cards in the ground in the ten places. Let sit for 48 hours. Then go collect the cards, and measure all the particles on the card with a magnifying glass. Materials: Results:Low number of particles: Medium number of particles: High number of particles: Conclusion:My hypothesis was correct. The places with the most businesses had the most particles. What I can do in the future is find out where the pollution comes from, such as cars, factories, and how to reduce it. Phillipsburg Christan Academy 3rd party credit.
