Science experiments for kids that offer a third dimensional approach...
3D science fair projects are basically science experiments for kids that involve a 3D model. Some of the fastest science fair projects arounds utilize 3D models. Below is a list of five 3D science fair projects that you can complete and expand on.
Many biology science fair projects translate easily into 3D science fair projects. For example, plant projects can use the plants themselves as the 3D visual element for the project, or a terrarium can be used for the 3D elements. You can also build a 3D model of a plant cell or a flower to illustrate what your experiment discovered about a plant, for example, how capillary action works. Earth science experiments also can benefit from a 3D model. For example, if your hypothesis deals with magnetic fields, you can design a magnetic field viewer using a simple plastic bottle, steel wool shavings and baby oil. This 3D model can be used to demonstrate how you gathered data for your experiment as well as to illustrate the shape of magnetic fields. Medicine science fair projects, in many cases, need a 3D model to illustrate what is happening in the body during your experiment. For example, if your hypothesis deals with the effects a certain drug has on the body, you can use a 3D model to demonstrate what the effect is. Working 3D models are going to be the most impressive for this type of experiment. Chemistry experiments can also benefit from a 3D model. The type of 3D model that you use will depend a lot on what your experiment was working with. For example, you may want to supplement you chemistry science fair projects that deal with chemical reactions with a 3D model of the molecular structure of the elements you mixed together to show why they were reactive. On the other hand, if your science experiment dealt with the creation of polymers, your 3D model will most likely be the polymer that you created. The final 3D science fair project that you can create is a zoology 3D science fair project. This project will most likely use the actual animal you experimented with, like a mouse or your pet dog, or a model of the maze or target object that you used for your experiment. The key to creating a 3D science fair project is to not overwhelm the judges with too many visual elements. Instead, create one or two stunning pieces and then back them up with a simple but informative poster. Copyright © 2003 - 2010 Super Science Fair Projects - All Rights Reserved.
