Science fair projects 6 years old students must be kept simple. At the same time 6 year olds love science projects and a good challenge. These projects can look at how food reacts to bacteria, how food attracts insects, how food is digested or how food products are made. Be creative, but remember to learn if a food project is edible before you complete it.

For example, you can take an advanced chemistry project that looks at polymerization, and transform it into a safe and fun slime production science experiment. This project is super fun and is safe for young kids to do, as long as they understand that the slime is not edible.

The key for developing science fair projects for 6 year olds is to keep things fun. Hands on projects work the best, as it keeps the students engaged in the learning activity. Outdoor projects are also great options, as kids love to take advantage of any excuse they can get to go outside and explore.
