Science Fair Project Astronomy Abstract
Do the Properties of Albedo Affect the surrounding Air?
The Albedo Affect on Surrounding Air
was presented at the
Illinois Junior Academy of Science (IJAS).
ABSTRACT
CATEGORY: Astronomy
STUDENT: Vanessa Minor
GRADE LEVEL: 12th
CITY/STATE: Benton, IL, USA
AWARD: Minority Award - Region 8 Fair, Illinois
I. Purpose
The purpose of this project is to determine if the properties of albedo affect the temperature of surrounding air.
II. Procedure
I created two boxes and painted them to have colors of high differentiable albedo measure. I then
tested the air surrounding the boxes with temperature probes and my TI-83 Plus calculator. I compared data.
III. Conclusion
In conclusion, the board with a high albedo measure had temperatures lower than the board with a lower albedo measure.
The IJAS only requires three sections in an abstract, but the
ISEF, Intel International Science and Engineering Fair
(grand daddy of all science fairs)
requires six sections. So, be sure to check to see what the guidelines are for your particular science fair.
Super Science Fair Project
Abstracts page has detailed, step-by-step process on how to write an outstanding
abstract that meets the ISEF rules. Personally, I think that Vansessa's is outstanding because her abstract is to the point
and very clearly written. By what she wrote you can tell that she knows what she is talking about.
