Science fair projects on cheerleading are not only fun to do, but they can help you to explore a wide variety of subjects and science concepts. You can complete cheerleading psychology science experiments, math science experiments and even behavioral science experiments.

The first option that you have for science fair projects on cheerleading is to look at the psychology of group behavior. In this experiment you will be looking at why cheerleading works, and how group behavior dynamics impact the mood and behaviors of people in the bleachers. This can be a very interesting project.

The second option that you have for science fair projects on cheerleading is to determine what is more effective in leading cheers, sound or visual cues. In this experiment you will need a large group of people and a group of cheerleaders. The first experiment will use only sound cues to lead cheers. Note how the crowd responds and observe their participation level. The second experiment will use only visual cues to lead cheers. Note the crowd's response. Finally, use both visual and auditory cues. What happens?

The third option that you have for 24-hour science fair projects that deal with cheerleading is to examine the geometry of cheerleading. In this experiment you will look at various cheerleading formations. First you will examine single level formations and secondly you will look at multi-level cheer formations. What geometric concepts are used in creating these formations? Why do you think that they are used? What are the advantages?

The fourth cheerleading experiment option that you have is to examine the science of cheer rhythm. You can examine the cheer rhythm using mathematics or you can look at it from an anthropological standpoint. The key here is to explore cheerleading in a unique way. For example, you can examine how cheerleading rhythms are similar to other traditional chanting rhythms found around the world. Explain how they are similar and different.

When you are putting together your cheerleading science project you want to avoid cliche projects. This means that you avoid overly simple projects that only deal with superficial aspects of cheerleading. The best science fair projects on cheerleading will explore the science concepts used by cheerleaders to deliver their cheers in the most effective manner possible. Be creative and don't be afraid to take a risk.
