An Alternative energy sources school project is a great way to get your students excited by science, to explore new and relevant science concepts and possibly even a great way to win grant money. Each year that we are dependent on fossil fuels to run our country we make ourselves more vulnerable to international manipulation and price gauging. Now is the time to take back some control by learning about renewable energy sources and their potential applications. These are great kits for doing school science projects.
Recent price hikes to crude oil has made it difficult for many school districts to pay their power bill, and schools that are located in extreme environments are being hit the hardest because of their chronic heating or cooling needs. One way to solve your school's energy cost problem is to have your school work on an alternative energy sources school project. This project can examine the feasibility of implementing alternative sources to light, heat or cool their school. Getting kids excited about science is not always easy to do, especially with the dry reading material that text books present. A school project is one way to get the entire school working together to explore options and possibly win a share of the millions of dollars currently being offered by government agencies and non-profit agencies for alternative energy development. Look at Chevron, for example. They are currently offering over $7.8 million to 12 sample cities to explore solar energy utilization. The money is out there, so take advantage of this opportunity to be a leader in change. A school energy project not only offers the chance for your district to solve its financial and energy problems, but it also offers your school's teachers with a practical way to present and examine key scientific concepts. If you live in a sunny area of the world then solar sources of renewable energy can be explored, if you live in a windy area you can explore wind sources of energy and if you live near a river then you can explore hydroelectric power energy. For most schools solar and wind energy sources are going to be the safest and easiest energy sources to tap. To fund your project you will first want to talk with your state energy department to see if they have any school or industry grants available. If none are available, then look at private organizations and the Federal Department of Energy. This country has finally decided that oil is not a practical energy source for the long term and that now is the time to find alternatives. Because of this there are millions, if not billions of dollars available, for schools, businesses and independent exploration and development projects. All you have to do is find one that you can tap into to fund your own alternative energy projects. Other projects that you can try out include: • Explore the application of biofuels at your school Now is the time to move your school to the head of the pack. Implement your own alternative energy sources school project by turning energy science experiments for kids into a funding source for your school.
