Fun Science Experiments With Children
One great way to entertain your kids and to educate them at the same time is to complete fun science experiments with children. There are hundreds of experiments that even parents with little science expertise can set up and complete with their kids. Here are some kits that help you to save money because everything is included...
Before you can complete fun science experiments with children, you need to select a topic that is appropriate for their age, that will grab their attention and that will keep them invested in the experiment from the start to the finish. Some of the topics that you may want to consider include: magnets, electricity experiments, chemical reactions, crystals, microscopes, and optical illusions. If you are looking for science experiments that will be fun for younger kids, then you may want to stick to simple experiments that can be completed with household ingredients. Cooking science is a great place to start. These experiments are great for really young kids who are interested in what you are doing in the kitchen. To help explain what chemical reactions are happening as you bake and cook, let them help you measure out ingredients and then explain what that ingredient does. Then after the cooking lesson is over, try a science experiment that plays around with the ingredients that you just used for cooking like:
Fun science experiments with children are activities that aren't limited to little kids, teens can also benefit from these adult/parent learning adventures. However, in order for a science experiment to be fun for teens, it will need to be more complex, more exciting and slightly more death defying. To find projects that meet all of these objectives, you will need to do some research and buy a few supplies. Some of the science experiments that teens may find interesting include:
The first thing that you will need to do to prepare for fun science experiments is to do your research. This research will need to include background information on the ingredients and materials that you will be using and background information on the science theories and concepts that you will be using. After gathering your background information review it so that you will be able to answer your kid's or teen's questions and so that you can explain the experiment to them. You might look into best science projects books. During the set up of the experiment you will want to make sure your equipment is sterilized, that you follow the set up instructions to the letter and that you do not contaminate any of the chemicals that the experiment will use. If your kids are helping you with the set up make sure that they have on the proper safety gear like goggles and an apron. You will also want to have on safety equipment, if required by the experiment. When you are ready for your experiment to begin have your kids keep a journal of what happens. This will help them to practice taking notes on experiments and it will help to keep them focused on the concepts they are working with. Also, as the experiment progresses, ask them questions about what they are seeing, what is happening and what they will think will happen next. Fun science experiments with children encourage them to develop a curiosity about science and it will encourage advanced thinking processes.
