Enjoy the genius of the next generation of scientists from the International Science and Engineering Fair...
The International Science and Engineering Fair, a.k.a. the ISEF, is a great showcase of the ingenuity and creativity of the next wave of scientists. This science fair produced the geekiest science fair projects around. If you are looking for ideas for hands-on science fair projects then take a look at these projects. Run Your Car on Water was a great project that created a hydrogenator which allowed a car to be operated on water. In this project a hydrogenator was developed that harvested the hydrogen from water and used it as a fuel source. The results produced a fuel efficient vehicle that was less polluting than a gas powered car. Another of the great hands-on science fair projects was the Water Pollution Testing Robot. This robot was designed to enter a water source, take samples, analyze them and transmit back the data to the home base. It utilized a GPS system and wireless technology. A wire bending robot was also developed at the International Science and Engineering Fair. This robot made the wire bending process normally done by presure painting professionals more efficient. The robot was able to bend wires quicker, with more consistency and with more detail than their human counterparts. Another of the hands-on science fair projects that included a robot was the table tennis robot. This robot acts as a table tennis partner. You can program the robot to hit the ball to a specific position on the table. This is a great training tool or source of entertainment. If you are interested in rocket science then the Plasma Propulsion III project will be of interest to you. This project produced a more efficient fuel productivity/thrust system, compared to the ones used by NASA. This was an extremely advanced project that shows how clever science students really are. Finally there is the Multi-touch Table: Infrared Based Touch Interface. This project created a low cost touch screen. It utilized very basic materials like acrylic glass, an infrared based detecting system and a web camera.
