Sports experiments that explore the science of bodybuilding...
Bodybuilding science fair projects are very popular because it is a lot of fun to explore this unique sport. However, in addition to being fun, there are lots of science concepts related to bodybuilding that you can explore and learn from. Some of the topics that you can cover with your sports experiments include: how muscles work, how muscles develop, the nutrition of bodybuilding and the mechanics of bodybuilding. The most basic bodybuilding science fair projects that you can complete will look at how muscles work. For example, you can conduct an experiment that examines the electrical impulses that are required to trigger a muscle to do work. You can also look at the various types of muscles, the extendors and flexors, to see how they differ in shape and function. Another topic that you can explore with bodybuilding science fair projects is how muscles develop. You may think that muscles develop because they grow and strengthen because of exercise. In reality, muscle growth is actually caused as a response to a muscle injury caused by exercise, almost like scaring. To explore this topic you can look at how muscles develop, what is needed to grow muscle or if you can stimulate muscle growth artificially. If you are looking for 24-hour science fair projects then you can design a project on the nutrition of bodybuilding. Muscles need specific nutrients in order to develop and in order to maintain them. You can explore this topic further by conducting an experiment that compares the muscle growth results produced using a high protein diet, a high carbohydrate diet and a normal diet supplemented with sports supplements. The fourth option that you have for your bodybuilding science fair projects is to look at the mechanics of bodybuilding. This topic can be explored by examining different exercises that are used to target specific muscle groups. Examine how the angle of the lift, turn or pull is related to where the muscle is located, how deep the muscle is, how large the muscle is and what the function of the muscle is. Try to find direct correlations between muscle development, exercise angle and muscle function. This information can then be used to design more effective exercises for bodybuilders. After you have put together your experiment you will next need to work on your presentation. To start with write your report. This report will provide you with all the information you need to complete your visual display and to develop your oral presentation. The visual display will need to contain excerpts from your report, as well as interesting graphics. Your graphics need to include charts and graphs of your data, and photographs or drawings of muscles (internal or external views). Have fun with the design of your visual display. It needs to catch the judges' attention, entertain them and educate them about your project. Copyright © 2003 - 2010 Super Science Fair Projects - All Rights Reserved.
