If you spend all of your energy trying to “control” your emotions, you may feel like it is an impossible task for the long haul. That’s because it really is. You can’t control your emotions because you have an innate response to anything and everything that happens to you. Since you can’t control what people say or do, you can’t totally control your impulses and feelings to them but you can learn ways to retrain your mind and manipulate your responses overall. Most encouragingly, you can find a way to bring peace to your life no matter what unpleasant feelings you may be experiencing.

Visualizing  is a great way to explore your fear based feelings. Often times, we don’t shy away from feelings generated from love such as kindness, joy, happiness or feeling at ease with our life. We do however, shy away from feeling anger towards our partner, jelousy towards our co-worker who got the promotion we applied to and feeling that we are simply “not good enough” to have this or that. The reality is, we simply don’t get everything we want in life, but for those things that we really desire, we can use our mind to make them possible. Visualization is one of the most powerful tools we have at our disposal yet many of us don’t utilize what’s right before our eyes. You can take any situation that is unpleasant, such as a relationship you’re not getting pleasure from, a career that’s not going anywhere or the opportunity to finally lose weight as you have always wanted and change your reality.

By applying some simple rules for visualization, you have the power to create the life you have always wanted.  For example, if you have a “dead end job” that is not giving you the personal and professional satisfaction that you need, spend some time imagining what that ideal job is like. As if playing a movie of your life in your head, picture what position of power you are in. Are you the CEO or editor-in-chief for a magazine? Do you have a beautiful and spacious office with a view of the city below? Are you responsible for a team of 10 employees instead of being ordered around by a micro-managing boss? Whatever you want for yourself, imagine it in your mind with every little detail you can think of. Imagine it not only to your heart’s content but as if it is already happening. When you mind begins receiving messages of “I am” instead of “I wish for” you are changing your subconscious mind’s messages which will then be released into the universe. By doing so, you are also training your conscious mind and literally convincing yourself that what you want has already come true. You begin to take chances on opportunities that before you would have passed up due to lack of confidence, etc.

The more you train your mind to believe, the more likely you will see the results in your life. If you dream of a certain type of partner to be in a long term relationship with, tell yourself what you are manifesting and replace those negative thoughts of “that will never happen for me” with constructive, self-affirming thoughts like “I am in a loving relationship”. Focus on the life you want for yourself and the actual thing will follow. Although it sounds like magic, it doesn’t instantly appear. It takes believing in yourself, hard work and the ability to work out the things that are most important in your life and for your life. Examine who you are and the rest will follow.

OK, so maybe you’ve thought of this one before, but it’s definitely the number one thing to keep in mind when you’re trying to save money at the pump. Since most gas stations are owned by large corporations, some may be chaper than others no matter where you go. Know which gas stations are most likely to have the cheapest prices, but keep close tabs on where you find the best deals, because gas prices are constantly changing. Don’t settle on the pump you’re used to filling up at – make an effort to see how much you can save on price per gallon alone.

Pay With Cash

This one is two-fold. When you pay with a credit or debit card (debit card, especially), your bank may find ways to “hide” fees or money that’s been “set aside” for gas purchases. If you use your debit card, a lot of times you’ll see on your statement that you’ve been charged $1, when you know that you’ve actually spent $30. The gas station waits to submit credit card information to your bank, sometimes for up to 3 days, making it harder for you to track your personal finances for those few days.

Gas prices are also increased when paying with a credit card at a lot of stations. Try to find a place that offers a “cash price” for a gallon. It’s usually 10 cents lower than the “regular” price. The difference will add up quickly!

Check Your Tire Pressure

You may think that this has nothing to do with how much money you spend on gas, but it’s actually proven that keeping your tires at the correct recommended pressure will improve your gas mileage up to 3%. If you do a lot of driving, that’s 3% less often you’ll have to fill your tank, equaling more of your hard-earned cash in your pocket, not at the pump.

Check your tires for the recommended pressure. If your tires say max 40 psi, fill it all the way to 40. Don’t over or undercompensate. Your gas mileage will thank you.

Ditch the Junk in the Trunk

Sticking with the whole improving gas mileage idea, chuck whatever is in your trunk that you don’t need. Studies show that 100 pounds of “junk” kept in the trunk of your car can decrease your fuel efficiency up to 2%. These percentages may sound small, but in the long run, taking the necessary precaution to insure maximum fuel economy will save you some major money.

Drive the Speed Limit!

This one may be tough for a lot of you out there, but drive the speed limit. Your car’s fuel efficiency significantly decreases at any speed over 60 miles per hour. Plus, by driving the speed limit, you’re less likely to get a ticket, which we all know can also help save your wallet (and your dignity).

Avoid the Stop-and-Go

Unnecessary idling can also decrease your gas mileage. Try to avoid stop-and-go traffic if at all possible. If it means staying at the office an extra half hour to avoid the traffic, you’ll probably be paid overtime, get home around the same time, and have a smooth ride all the way, which your car will thank you for. If you can’t avoid the mess, just drive gently. Try not to slam the brakes too abruptly or hit the gas too hard. Both will hurt your fuel economy.

Combine Trips, Carpool or Walk

Face it, the easiest way to save money on gas is to drive as little as humanly possible. If you live within walking distance to the grocery store or to work or the kids’ daycare center, walk there. The exercise is great for you. Even invest in a bike and ride your bike to all of the close places. If you have to commute to work, find someone who lives near you to carpool with. You can take turns driving the long trip, cutting your personal driving time in half.

Make sure when you go out for something, you do more than one thing. If you have to go to the bank, why not stop at the store and pick up something to make for dinner while you’re out? Pick up your drycleaning. Stop at your niece’s soccer game to see your family before you head home. Combine all of your errands to save on gas.

Buy a New Car

Sounds a little counterproductive, right? Well think about it this way – what’s the gas mileage you’re getting on your current vehicle? Do some research on diesel, hybrid and now even electric cars. Diesel is much cheaper than gas, hybrid cars are much more fuel efficient, and electric cars virtually eliminate the need for fuel at all, running purely on electrical power.

While this may be a long-term investment, your short-term wallet will appreciate the effort. Maybe you just need a smaller car, since smaller, lighter vehicles tend to have higher fuel efficiency than bigger “gas guzzlers” (they adopted that term of endearment for a very legitimate reason!).

Don’t Panic

Perhaps one of the biggest tips we can give you here today is don’t panic. Don’t freak out if you end up spending some money at the tank. The good news is that the oil industry is always changing, and there will come a time when gas prices go back down. By taking just a few small extra steps to make sure that your car is well taken care of (keeping up with oil changes will also help improve your gas mileage) and simply being a bargain shopper and knowing what you’re buying, you can quickly cut down on the costs of fueling up your car. You’ll start to see the results more quickly than you think!

Next you will need to learn how to organize your windmill science fair project report. The organization of your report is going to be dependent on the instructions given to you by your teacher. However, the format will generally follow an outline like this one: title page, introduction, hypothesis, background research, experiment design, data, data analysis, results, discussion (recommendations).
