Trouble extracting apple juice w/Pectinase

Question: My daughter is trying to do an experiment using pectin enzyme to remove juice from apples and it is not working here is the question if someone would be able to assist her project is due in one week.

I am Extracting Apple Juice w/Pectinase. I have followed the Experimental Procedures and I am not getting any juice. I am using a Gala apple and Crosby & Baker, Pectic Enzyme Solution (PES). I have added approx. 3/4 ml of the PES to 1 gallon of distilled water. The directions on the label call for 1/4 tsp per 5 gallons. I have tried this 3 times with no noticable results. Is 2 ml enough enzyme liquid.

Thank you very much for your help,
Ron

Answer: Ron, if we do not sell the kit and then we do not know how to advize you. We suggest you call the manufacturer and ask them.

The 2nd best thing to do is to got Ask a Scientst and ask you question there.
