Summer vacation is already nearly a third of the way over. Now is the time when summer boredom starts to set in. You can eliminate your summer boredom by conducting your own summer science fair projects. One type of summer project that you can work on is a plant project.
If you have a backyard to work in, then growing your own organic garden can be a great summer science fair project. For example, you can work on a compost project, you can see if the amount of light impacts the growth pattern of your plants or you can experiment with cross breeding vegetables. Squashes are particularly easy to cross breed. The more time and ingenuity that you invest in your project the better it is going to do at your school, state or the national science fair. This is because science fair success is directly related to these two factors.
If you don’t have a backyard, or space to have a small garden, then you can develop kitchen science gardens using pots and an artificial light source. Indoor plant projects can involve germination, hydroponics and aeroponics. These projects are just as valuable at science fairs, but you may need to invest more money in setting them up. If you need supplies and don’t have a lot of money, then look for science fair kits. These kits usually will provide you with everything that you need for your experiment, and they offer you a slight discount on supplies since you are buying everything together.
