Temperature and Electricity AbstractKay's science fair project's abstract on temperature and electricity show the effects of metal as a conductor of electricty as well as affects of temperature.
Temperature and Electricity Abstract CATEGORY: Physics STUDENT: Kay GRADE LEVEL: CITY/STATE: Many factors are known to affect how well a metal conducts electricity. Temperature is one factor that affects the resistance of a conductor. Purpose: This experiment tested to see how varying temperatures affects the resistance of copper.
The prediction was that there would not be a dramatic difference in the resistance since the temperature range was not super high or super low.
In this experiment, a copper wire was put in varying temperatures from 0 to 260 degrees Celsius and measured with a multi-meter to find the resistance and checked using an equation. The resistances of the copper wires were compared to the temperature of the wires.
This data supported the hypothesis in that there was not a huge difference between the varying temperatures. They were different by a few mili-ohms. What can be conclude, is that temperature does have an impact on resistance. Also using a multi-meter is not always an accurate tool to use since it often fluctuated. ![]() More display boards and abstracts will be added like the temperature and electricity abstract.
