Hypothesis
In water purification the two basic methods such as cloth filtration and sand filtration does not clean water efficiently but the use of alum and boiling of water clean water more efficiently.
Experiment 1. First connect all the four transparent jars using tubes.
2. Jar ‘A’ is covered with a filter cloth.
3. Jar ‘A’ and Jar ‘B’ are filled with coarse and fine sand particles for about 1- 1.5 inches respectively.
4. Jar ‘C’ is used for alum.
5. Jar ‘D’ is used for clean water.
6. After the instrument is being set up, allow the impure water to flow through the different jars.
7. Wait for an hour for the purification to take place.
8. Boil the water obtained from the last jar for about 20 minutes in a boiling
