Zoology science fair experiments bug the judges, but in a good way...
Insect projects allow you to experiment with creatures that can think and respond to stimuli. This type of science fair project is great because nearly every one has access to bugs of some kind, whether they are ants, bees, spiders or centipedes. On of the best, most inexpensive kits that we have for doing science fair projects. If you are ready to start working with bugs look at the following zoology science fair experiments to see if any of them look interesting to you. There is an old adage that states that you can "attract more flies with sugar than with vinegar." The purpose of this experiment is to see if this adage is true. Set out a bowl of sugar and observe it for one or two hours. What bugs did the sugar attract? Now set out a bowl of vinegar and observe it for one or two hours. What bugs, if any did it attract? Which attracted more bugs, the sugar or the vinegar? Why do think this happened? The second bugs science fair projects that you can try out deal with bug reproduction. Your first option is to examine how bug reproduction differs from bird or mammal reproduction. Your second option is to look at the reproductive systems of various types of bugs. Your final option is to look at teh mating rituals of different types of bugs. If you are interested in biology science fair projects then consider completing a butterfly life cycle experiment. In this experiment you will watch a butterfly transition from an egg to a caterpillar to a pupa to a butterfly. See if light exposure and temperature speeds up the development process. If you are an outdoor lover, then grab a magnifying glass, a notepad, a camera and a bug identification book and head outside. In these biology science fair projects you will be looking at your local population of bugs. Your first option is to stake out a one square meter area and look for bugs. Take a picture of each bug you find and make notes about how many of each species you find as well as making notes about their size, shape and color. Your second option is to conduct a bug count in your school yard. When making notes about what you find, remember to note where you found the bug, what vegetation was found around it and how many bugs you found. The final bugs science fair projects that can complete look at helpful bugs. Award winning science fair projects that feature bugs will need to look at how bug data can be applied to common problems. For example, you can design an experiment that looks at how certain bug species can be used to reduce waste at a landfill, or how maggots can be used to clean out a wound. You can also look at how medical science is using bugs like leaches to clean the blood of cancer victims instead of using radiation. Be creative and think outside of the box if you want to impress the judges and win your science fair or science competition. Copyright © 2003 - 2010 Super Science Fair Projects - All Rights Reserved.
